1.       What is International Tamil Technical Professionals’ Organization (ITTPO)?

·       ITTPO is a Non-Profit organization formed to bring together Tamil Technical professionals and their friends around the world and offer its assistance to the development of Northeast Sri Lanka.

 

2.       How ITTPO plans to achieve its goals?

·       Coordinate with the technical professionals around the world and channel their expertise to the development of Northeast Sri Lanka

·       Make the people of Northeast technically competent

·       Work towards to bringing the Northeast Sri Lanka to be technically par to the developed countries

·       Provide resources for the high-tech education and generate technical employment opportunities in the Northeast Sri Lanka

 

3.       What are ITTPO’s current projects?

·       VanniTech

Ø      VanniTech (Vanni Institute of Technology), a High Technology educational establishment created for the people of Northeast Sri Lanka. VanniTech will make people of Northeast technically competent and generate a high-tech work force that can compete in a global economy.

 

4.       What are ITTPO’s future projects?

·       Share and Learn Program for foreign college students

Ø     Similar to student exchange programs, where Tamil expatriate students or anyone interested go to Northeast Sri Lanka and spend few weeks or months putting their knowledge to work and earn credits for their work. Students from all discipline can participate.

·       Encourage and facilitate local and global private ventures in high-tech arena to increase employment opportunities and economical activities. 

 

5.       What is VanniTech?

·       A High-Tech educational institution that offers university/industry level courses and field deployable projects based courses that will be suited for immediate employment opportunities in Northeast Sri Lanka.

·       Becomes a center piece for a Technology park

 

6.       What are the immediate course offerings?

·          Web based application development

·          Database application development

·          Computer communications

·          Electronics and Hardware Design

 

7.       What are the future course offerings?

·       When resources and volunteers available, VanniTech will expand to include other disciplines of Technology and management that are helpful for the development of Northeast Sri Lanka.

 

8.       What are some of the facts about VanniTech program of studies?

·       The course of studies is 9 months intense course work with hands on training and expected to be a resident program.

·       Quarter System with credit Units:

Ø        10 weeks of quarter, and 3 quarter program

Ø        2 weeks in-between quarters for internship

·       GPA based grading systems

 

9.       Where is the institute located?

·       Initially, VanniTech will be based in Killinochchi

 

10.   Any feasibility studies done on VanniTech?

·       Yes, one Volunteer from San Jose, California visited Vanni and conducted the feasibility studies. Please refer the report at the document section.

 

11.   Who are implementing the VanniTech?

·       ITTPO has helped establish an independent local board - VanniTech Board to administer VanniTech.

·       VanniTech Board is a non-profit organization registered with government of Sri Lanka. ITTPO would continue to be in charge of academic affairs of VanniTech until year 2008.  

 

12.   How can I contribute?

·      Donation towards the establishment of VanniTech

Ø        Tax deductible organizations that collects fund

Ø        Computers, Software, Network equipments, Lab Equipments.

·      Become a member of VanniTech discussion group and provide valuable constructive ideas and suggestions.
